Museum of Lighting and Heating Collections Through the Ages
The museum is in Çavuşbaşı and is established by Mehmet Yaldız. An oil-lamp that Yaldız found when he was 12 years old, led him to ask the question “how did people ligth up their rooms in the past?” This question led Yaldız to research and collecting. He decided to establish a museum when he was 18 years old. He could realize this dream 40 years later. The museum called “Lighting and Heating Devices Through the Ages” is a first in our country. The museum contains more than two thousand pieces from the past. Most of these pieces were collected from Anatolia and various countries.
the museum contains various torches and oil-lamps, varieties of chandeliers from the oldest samples up to the present, lighting and heating devices using rapeseed oil, gas oil, spirit, gasoline, carbide and various vegetable oils is open for visit every day of the week. The visiting hours are between 09:00 and 17:30.
