It is not known for certain when Kılıçlı Village, where the construction of the largest movie set in Turkey is going on, was established. A story dates the foundation of the village to the era of Tamerlaine. The fact that Bayezid I. annexed the village to the Ottoman lands is another uncertain piece of information. The first ones to come to the village are the Caucasian Turks. They came in four tribes. The name of the village is mentioned in Evliya Çelebi’s travel book too. Çelebi says, “The name of the village was Kılıçlı (With Sword) since swordfish passed in schools from the river right beneath the village.” Another story states that the village was conquered by sword, so its name was Kılıçlı.
