Navigation and Water Products Museum
3.800 pieces consisting of fish species, marine creatures and shellfish are on display in the “Navigation and Water Products Museum”, and it contains interesting details of the sea creatures’ lives.
The museum was established under the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Marine High School founded under the name “Fishing and Water Products Professional High School” to improve marine understanding with the cooperation of Japanese and Turkish governments in 1973, and it is one of the favorite spots of the visitors.
The museum exhibits the species that -mainly grow in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara seas, and freshwater fish also display extinct fish, starfish, corals, pipefish and shellfish. The museum in the gaden of Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Marine High School is open for visits between 08:30 and 17:00 in weekdays for free.
